Three firms in final design bid for $300m project
Developers of the $300million Haven project in Nausori have shortlisted three architecture firms for the project's design work.
Executive Development Properties Fiji Ltd chairman Doctor Brad Carver said the selected companies were Australian firm Hames Sharley, submitting with Fiji-based firm Yellow, Californian firm Studio Pali Fekete architects and Lab Architecture Studio, based in Melbourne, Australia.
Expected to create 1000 jobs, the project will have international class residential homes, terrace houses and apartments, a premium hotel, 12-storey office complexes for professional and corporate organisations and a contemporary four-storey retail shopping complex.
The three companies competed against more than a dozen entries from Europe, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, the United States, Australia and Fiji.
The design competition closed on May 4.
Dr Carver said EDP was committed to "world's best practice" for the project.
He said directors felt an international architecture design competition would be a good way to attract the world's best architects and were delighted by the outstanding response.
